Get a job without even applying (not clickbait)

It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.
— Babe Ruth

Compare this:

Person A applies to 200 jobs and then gets an interview call.
Person B gets directly approached by recruiters.

A lot of our mentees fall into category B.
What’s the magic trick?
Having an optimized LinkedIn profile!

So, let’s learn one effective tip on increasing the probability of a recruiter landing on your profile.

I won’t go into the profile pic or the banner because you probably know that.

Instead let’s talk about the Headline.

Addressing the DON’Ts first:

❌ Don’t write your college name unless it’s prestigious or creates a good impression. Lambton, Conestoga doesn’t cut it.

❌ Don’t write General Diploma names like International Business/ Global Business Management as that’s not valuable.

❌ Steer clear of overused buzzwords like "guru," "rockstar," and "wizard" as they seem unprofessional.

Now, let’s talk about an optimized Headline…

Let’s say you’re applying for Business Analyst roles.

Business Analyst | Stakeholder Engagement | Process Improvement | Financial Services | SQL | Tableau | Power BI

This hits the nail on the head.

Why?

✅ Recruiter searching for BAs would find you easier compared to those who do not have Business Analyst written there.

✅ You have listed the industry

✅ You have listed the key tools required for BAs.

✅ You have listed other processes that you are skilled at.

This would hardly take you 2 minutes to do but will shoot up your chance of getting contacted by the recruiter!

We teach cool stuff like this in our career coaching and that’s how most of our mentees get their job without even applying!

Keep Blooming,
Bani Singh
