A simple trick to land your field job faster
I recently started keeping a food journal to better understand what was triggering inflammation issues in my body.
I’d been experiencing pain and thought I had a fair idea of what to eat and what to avoid.
But I’ve been finding interesting discoveries since I started tracking.
For example, I experienced no pain after eating pizza or momos from outside (I know this still doesn’t give me the license to eat these every day!)
But eating rajma chawal triggered pain that even woke me up at night.
Surprising, right?
If I had just relied on my memory, I would have forgotten most of the stuff and would have added my bias (like my beloved rajma chawal can never do this to me).
I’ve been doing this for 12 days now and will hopefully find a pattern once I have enough data.
Here’s the lesson…
Tracking data can reveal insights we’d otherwise miss.
It can a powerful tool in your job hunt search.
Here’s how to put this lesson into practice:
Track Your Applications: You might be thinking that you’re devoting a lot of time to your job search everyday (say 2 hours). But when you track, you might notice that you just end up applying to 3-4 jobs and spend rest of the time watching reels or reading irrelevant job articles.
Monitor Networking Efforts: Keep tabs on how many people you reach out to, who responds, and which connections lead to real opportunities. Tracking will help you see where to focus your efforts.
Document Skill Development: Track new skills or courses you’re working on and check in regularly. This can reveal how far you’ve come and show you where to go next.
Keep Blooming,
