This is why you can’t leave your minimum-wage job

I don’t like to gamble, but if there’s one thing I’m willing to bet on, it’s myself.
— Beyoncé

When I first drove a car on a Canadian highway, I was terrified.

Picture this: cars zooming past at 120+ km/hr.

Meanwhile, there I was, gripping the steering wheel with clammy hands, my breath heavy and feeling anxious.

In the city, I had barely driven at 70 km/h—and even that was a handful of times.

On this highway, it felt like everyone else had been born with a steering wheel in their hands, while I was struggling to keep myself calm.

Those 20 minutes were terrifying
But after the drive, I felt a a wee more confident about my driving.

All because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone.

We all have those "highway moments" in life—the times when stepping out of what feels safe is terrifying.

For you, it might not be driving. Maybe it’s staying in a minimum-wage job because it feels familiar. Or hesitating to apply for a field job because you think, “What if I’m not good enough?”

Here’s the truth: staying where you’re comfortable might feel safe, but it keeps you stuck.

Growth happens when you push through the fear and take that first step—no matter how small.

That job you really want? That life you dream of?
It’s waiting on the other side of your comfort zone.

And it’s okay to be afraid and still do it!
