How to make your job process stress-free
“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.”
Imagine your friend comes to you and says, “Maine aaj 10 crunches kiye. Ab kal tak mere six-pack abs aa jaane chahiye.”
You would laugh at your friend and think he/she has gone crazy!
But this is a real problem!
Many people procrastinate a lot before starting working on their goals.
But once they start, they expect instant results but it just doesn’t work that way.
It’s like planting a seed and expecting a tree the next day!
The same lesson can be applied to job hunting.
Often times, I get messages saying, “Bani meri job nhi lag rhi.”
But when I ask them how many jobs have they applied to, the number always shocks me.
Sometimes, it’s just 30 applications and a few times, it has been even 10!
Sounds crazy, right? But trust me, many people start getting disheartened and then quit applying.
Classic case of expectation mismatch.
Just like abs, landing your dream job isn't an overnight thing. You can send out five applications today, but you might not see results right away. And that's okay.
The same way you need to do crunches regularly to see those abs, you need to keep pushing forward in your job search.
It's not about immediate results; it's about steady effort.
So, don't lose hope if you don’t get an interview call or job offer in a few days.
Every application, every interview, every effort you put in gets you one step closer.

Here’s an action plan to make your job process stress-free:
1. Give yourself a timeline of 2-3 months: This will help you manage your emotions when you get rejections. This is exactly what I did when I was looking for a job. I set a timeline of 3 months for myself.
That’s why I never have an answer when people ask me, “Bani, how did you manage your stress during your job hunt?” Because I didn’t.
Since I got a job sooner than that, the chance for the stress never came.
2. Define your daily actions.
What are the 2-3 things you need to do EVERY DAY to move closer to your goal?
Stick to them. Rain or shine, good mood or bad, DO THOSE THINGS.
3. Once you've done your daily tasks, guess what? You're free!
Go for a walk, meet your friends, watch your fav movie.
Enjoy your life, because you've hit your input for the day.
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and your dream life won't be either.
But if you keep keep watering that plant - keep doing the work - one day you'll find that offer letter waiting in your inbox :-)
You've got this. I believe in you. Now go put in the work!
Keep Blooming,
Bani Singh
