Here’s how a cup of chai can get you your field job (not kidding)
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”
Being an Indian, I bet you’ve been a part of this scene atleast once in your life…
Your mom tells you to make chai for her.
You go to the kitchen.
Put in all the ingredients in the saucepan.
You keep staring at the saucepan.
Since nothing is happening, you feel safe to look in another direction for a second.
And then you hear “SSSS”
You dash to turn off the gas but before you can do so, it spills over.
You think ‘oh no, not again.”
But Bani, how is this related to me getting my field job?
Let me explain…
When you make the chai but you don’t see any boil, you think nothing is happening!
Just like making chai, your job search can feel like you’re stuck at the same place.
You might feel frustrated, thinking, "I’m doing everything, so why isn’t anything happening?"
But just like the chai doesn’t boil immediately, your efforts in job search might not show results right away.
If your resume is solid, you are using the right job application strategy and are confident of your interview,
then just like the chai suddenly starts to boil and spills over, there will come a moment when all your efforts come together, and you get the job offer you’ve been working so hard for.
It may seem like it happened out of nowhere, but it’s really the result of everything you’ve been doing up to that point.
But here's the thing, Ninja, if you put in the wrong ingredients:
➡️ Bad resume
➡️ Wrong job strategy
➡️ Incorrect way of giving interview answers
That interview call or the offer letter won’t come despite you working hard every day.
Also, doubt & anxiety will start creeping in your mind and you will question if putting in the work is even worth it.
But if you are confident of your process, you will keep going as you know that it’s just a matter of a few more job applications that you WILL get the job.
Keep Blooming,
Bani Singh
