How to Avoid a Miserable Life?
Hi,
Do you think “oh shit! Here we go again!” when you wake up? Have you noticed your Tuesdays turn into Thursdays when you feel so unfulfilled? Well, that was me a few years ago.
I used to look into the mirror and think “WTF am I doing with my life”. And rightly so. I was playing the games set by society and was trying hard to win.
1. Study hard in school.
2. Study hard in college.
3. Get a job.
I am sure you also had a set of similar rules/goals growing up.
Well, have you ever thought that these rules were not your own but given to you by someone else? Maybe your parents, friends or teachers.
Have you ever thought you were playing this game of life based on someone else’s terms?
Imagine waking up:
1. Excited. Ready to take on the world,
2. Feeling a deep sense of meaning in your actions.
3. To a feeling of deep impact you can have on others.
This can happen if you discover your purpose in life.
But how can you figure out what your purpose is? How can you live a meaningful life?
Well, this won't happen unless you won't control the things that are numbing your brain. Look at your 6 hours of screen time. Did you think you are going to have a meaningful life this way?
This is a pursuit you have to walk alone. No one else can walk with you.
There are 2 main things I want you to focus on:
1. Personal Development.
2. Service.
Only through the pursuit of these 2 will you find your purpose in life.
But if you don't turn off the distractions and think for yourself, you will stay stuck in the pit hole that you are in.
Try to minimize your phone addiction for the coming days and spend time thinking alone. Go to a park or look outside your window. AWAY FROM YOUR PHONE.
Spend time in solitude.
Think hard and meditate on this idea.
